Getting to South Bank

South Bank is located in the heart of Brisbane on the southern reaches of the spectacular Brisbane River. Getting there is easy with various public transport options and South Bank’s onsite undercover car parking. Public transport options include train, bus, City Cat or Ferry, or try out the eco-friendly Green Cabs. South Bank is only a short walking distance from the CBD and its vast cycling tracks make the precinct readily accessible by bike.

Parking Parklands Car Park

Parking at South Bank is easy at the Parklands’ undercover car park. Accessible from Little Stanley Street, the car park offers more than 800 spaces, including eight disabled bays with lift and stair accessibility from both the north and south entrances. The car park opens at Parking fees are as follows:
0–3 Hours $16
3–4 Hours $25
4–5 Hours $30
5 Hours + $36

Parking Performing Arts Car Park

At the Western end of South Bank just a few minutes’ walk away is the Performing Arts Car Park. Access to this car park is via Melbourne Street, Stanley Place or the one-way access road from Russell Street (turn left before the Wheel of Brisbane). The car park opens at Parking fees are $15 for the day.

Toilet Facilities

There are ample toilet facilities throughout South Bank the closest facilities are marked on the South Bank Map.


There are numerous cafes and food outlets located throughout South Bank. We will be providing a simple BBQ from Approx 3.00-4.00pm to coincide with the race finish and presentations.

Fun for all the Family

Whilst families will probably not last the entire duration of the run we encourage all families to head down and cheer the racers home. There are many facilities at South Bank for the entire family to enjoy. We will also provide some entertainment for the kids within the main waiting area of the Riverside green from around 2.00pm.

Best Viewing Points for the Family

There is plenty to do at South Bank for the entire family. There is a playground situated in our main waiting area as well as the just metres away. The other option is to take a 2.5km stroll down the Yellow route to Riverside Life Cafe below the cliffs heading to Kangaroo Point. There is a turnaround point and water station located here for the runners. There is also a number of playgrounds along the way so would make for a perfect stroll there and back for the family as well as enable you to cheer on the runners.
